The town council of As Pontes has a lot of different investment advantages for the implementation of new enterprises. These advantages are:

NON-REFUNDABLE GRANTS |
|
Thanks to the special circumstances created by the town council of As Pontes, the projects are eligible for general public financing, which may reach, in general terms, up to 30% of the total cost of the project.

- As Pontes is one of the councils included in the program: Community Initiative RECHAR.
As Pontes is considered as a municipality eligible for Reindustrialisation Funds promoted by the Ministry of Sciene and Technology.
- As every area in Galicia, As Pontes is beneficiary of the Galicia Plan with the grant denominated “Incentivos Economicos Regionales” from the Ministry of Economy.
- As Pontes is also considered as territory eligible for Funds promoted by the Galician Institute for economic development.

WORKING FORCE ADVANTAGES |
|
The region of As Pontes has a predominantly young population. The municipality’s industrial tradition can be seen in the highly qualified human resources and the constant effort to update in this regard.

AVAILABILITY OF NATURAL AND SUPPLIES |
|
From an energy point of view, As Pontes has a strategic position which is imposible to improve, thanks to the energy and mine complex of ENDESA with 2,500 megawatts installed in the area and the closeness of REGANOSA`s gas plant.
In addition the region also has a diversity of enterprises of which most of them are from the industrial sector.
Nearly 50% of the enterprises are from the service sector, of which more or less 40% are part of the industrial sector and 3% of the primary sector. The remaining 7% come from the construction sector. |

COMMUNICATIONS INFRASTRUCTURE |
|
The excellent communications infrastructure in As Pontes makes it the perfect place for setting up business. The Ferrol-Villalba highway is well connected to the Ferrol Port* and the centre of Spain and the AP-9 highway gives easy access to the airport and to A Coruña and Portugal.
(*) The inner port is a facility focused on intermodal traffic with the potential for new roll-on roll-off shipping routes between the Iberian peninsula and the rest of Europe (Benelux, Ireland, UK, etc.) The outer port is a new habour facility with large drafts and surfaces.
